As a student in Finance of Class of 2017 at Soochow University, I am very happy to have spent two years of my academic journey at the beautiful campuses of Soochow and UVic, experiencing different learning environments and achieving significant growth.
Reflecting on my two years at Soochow University: a period of gains, growth, and accumulation. On the beautiful campus of Soochow university, with its seasons and rich humanistic atmosphere, I found like-minded friends, gained lifelong knowledge, and had teachers who were both mentors and friends. Here, the all-English teaching mode, the patient and instructive teaching method also laid a good knowledge foundation for my later overseas studies. My class advisor and teachers were very dedicated, paying attention to each student's learning and well-being. Whenever I faced challenges, they were always patient in guiding and encouraging me, showing concern for my future studies and development. My time at Soochow university was a period of accumulation, transition, and growth for me.
My two years at UVic passed very quickly for me. Due to the pandemic, I had to take online classes from home for over one year, missing out on fully experiencing the campus atmosphere, which was undoubtedly regrettable. However, this brief experience will be unforgettable for me. UVic provided specialized counseling and guidance services for international students, and with the full tracking service provided by teachers from the Soochow university, I quickly adapted to the pace and life of studying in Canada. The UVic campus is truly vast and stunning, especially in autumn. Walking on the maple-covered campus, I was feeling like I was stepping into a painting for a moment. The teachers were very friendly, open to communicating with students from different backgrounds, treating every student without distinction. I really hope to have the opportunity to return to UVic for another class. Overall, the two years at UVic have broadened my visions, improved my professional knowledge, and deepened my understanding of the valuable human qualities of inclusivity, independence, freedom, and respect.
In my four years of university life, I experienced both Eastern and Western campus environments, encountered different cultural atmospheres, and acquired various knowledge and skills, which I believe have enriched me greatly.
